Asking rents. The cold rent a listing asks, divided by the living area: what a free flat costs now, not what tenants pay under the contracts they have.
The flats on FlatStrike. The 184 flats to rent that went online in Mitte in the last 90 days, those gone again too. 60% of them from Berlin’s state-owned housing companies. Private landlords’ listings on the big portals are not among them.
The median. As many flats asked less as asked more. A figure stands only where at least 30 flats in at least 10 buildings give it and no building holds more than a quarter of them; 15 for a row. Rounded to 10 cents.
